Arrests at Auckland welfare protest

By: Philippa Ormrod | Latest Auckland News | Tuesday September 18 2012 16:09

At least two people have been arrested at a protest by Auckland Action Against Poverty at the Ministry of Social Development's Auckland office.

A group of five people had locked themselves together at the office.

AAAP spokesperson Sarah Thompson says a police van has left the scene with two protestors, one of whom they believe to be former Green MP Sue Bradford.

Three people remain locked in the office, an emergency picket is underway outside the building and two people are on the roof.
