For the second year running, Waitemata District Health Board's been placed first in the country for its programmes aimed at partner and child abuse. The Violence Intervention Programme was put in place by the Ministry of Health to help reduce the impacts of family violence through early identification and case referral. The DHB's general manager of child, women and family services, Linda Harun, says 40 people work in its community and healthcare services, demonstrating a consistent focus in that particular area. |
