Brief bomb scare at Auckland Airport today

Part of Auckland International Airport was closed this afternoon after a bomb scare.

A police communications spokesman says a passenger arrived on an overseas flight with World War II artillery in their luggage.

The bomb squad was called and they've taken it away to dispose of.

Operations at the airport are back up and running again.
