Hopes Akl police patrols prevent CBD sex assaults

| Latest Auckland News | Friday October 12 2012 14:02

Auckland police will be patrolling the CBD tonight to try prevent sexual assaults.

Officers from the Adult Sexual Assault Team, and volunteers from other agencies are aiming to deliver the message that "no consent means no sex".

A postcard sized pamphlet will be handed out to patrons of various premises, to remind people of the impact alcohol has on decision making, and for friends to look out for one another.

Posters conveying the same messages will also be distributed to bars for display in rest rooms.

Acting Detective Sergeant Greg Brand says they're tying to take a holistic approach and actively try to prevent incidences.
