Auckland bus strike action called off

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Auckland News | Friday September 21 2012 14:06

Auckland's bus strike on Monday has been called off.

NZ Bus says they've put a new offer on the table and the unions have given it the nod, but it has yet to be voted on by drivers.

That will happen over the next couple of weeks.

NZ Bus chief operating officer Shane McMahon says today's talks were very positive.

"We're extremely pleased that we have been able to reach an agreement with both Tramways (Union) and First Union this morning. The good news is that means all services including the school services will be running as per normal on Monday."
