Len Brown signals Auckland rates rise 2.9 percent

Auckland Mayor Len Brown's signalled a rates rise of 2.9 percent for the coming year.

He's kicked off a Council meeting in Auckland by saying it's another great day in the life of the city.

The Mayor's trumpeting the proposed rates increase as lower than expected, and says they've been working hard to trim the fat, and make the increase as minimal as possible.
