Finishing touches for waterfront fireworks displays

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Auckland News | Wednesday September 19 2012 15:50

Barges in both Auckland and Wellington harbours are being loaded with fireworks ahead of Valerie Adams' gold medal ceremony this evening.

The displays will celebrate the first ever presentation of a gold medal in New Zealand.

Multiple barges are being positioned around the harbours to ensure the fireworks will be seen from a number of vantage points.

The displays will be seven minutes long, and in Auckland will culminate in the finale from the top of the ANZ Centre in Albert Street.
