Zone proving popular among Olympic fans

By: Anna Cross | Latest Auckland News | Tuesday August 7 2012 9:38

Auckland's Olympic fan zone is proving a popular place for people to get their daily dose of action before heading to work.

The fan zone has been set up in the Atrium at Britomart.

Spokeswoman Tania Stoyanof says several hundred people turned out yesterday to watch Usain Bolt win gold in the men's 100 metre final.

She says they're expecting another big crowd tomorrow for Nick Willis' 1500 metre final.

"Where we are located, it's right by the transport hub so that's where people are coming to work from and they're getting their Olympic action fix at the same time."
