Residents in Auckland's 'noisiest street' say it's not all that bad

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Auckland News | Tuesday September 25 2012 7:29

Residents in what's been labelled Auckland's noisiest street say life's not that loud - and they have a serial complainer in their midst.

After Queen Street in the city, Manurewa's Beeston Crescent draws the most noise control callouts - an average of three and a half a week.

But residents say they've been investigated for gardening with the radio on, watching DVDs, and children playing in the back yard.

Next loudest streets on the list are Panama Road in Mt Wellington, Valley Road in Titirangi, Great North Road, Grey Lynn and Wordsworth Road in Clendon, which is not far from Beeston Crescent.

APNZ reports Queen Street is the number one spot is due to nightclubs, karaoke bars and 24 hour takeaway shops.
