Akl local boards to have $10m transport funding annually

By: Nina Burton | Latest Auckland News | Friday August 3 2012 13:55

Auckland's local boards will have access to $10 million of transport funding every year.

It follows a decision by the Strategy and Finance Committee.

Provided they meet requirements, they'll be able use their share of the funding for any local transport capital works.

Mayor Len Brown says although Auckland Transport will retain responsibility for the budget and delivery, local boards can decide how the money is best used.

He says the budget can be bundled over and carried into later years, or brought forward.
