Police appeal for information in homicide investigation

By: Nina Burton | Latest Auckland News | Tuesday July 24 2012 14:49

Police and the father of a man found dead in Auckland nearly a year ago have made a desperate plea for information.

Lee McMurdo was found dead at his Helensville home nearly a year ago by his 12-year-old daughter.

At a police briefing in Auckland Lee McMurdo's father spoke via phone from Australia, saying how devastated his family are nearly 12 months on.

Police now believe Lee McMurdo died in the early hours of Wednesday July 27th last year, and are urgently appealing for any information, in particular regarding a white Mitsubishi mirage.

Detective Inspector Greg Cramer says Lee McMurdo was selling drugs in the form of bath salts at the time of his death, and someone knows what happened on the day he died.
