Case may ignite assisted suicide debate

By: Nina Burton | Latest Auckland News | Friday April 20 2012 11:30

An Auckland man has appeared in court in a case which could re-ignite the assisted suicide debate.

Evans Mott has been charged with helping his chronically-ill wife commit suicide late last year.

The 61-year-old master boatbuilder is alleged to have agreed to help research suicide methods for his wife who had an aggressive form of multiple sclerosis.

The case has been remanded until May the 4th with Mott's bail to continue.
