Auckland bus drivers hopeful over pay talks

| Latest Auckland News | Friday August 24 2012 10:01

Auckland bus workers are optimistic their pay talks can be resolved.

Despite coming close to reaching an agreement, NZ Bus drivers haven't reached a pay offer and have started working to rule.

First Union spokesman Karl Anderson says drivers work long, unsocial hours and NZ Bus is a profitable company that's failing to respect the work of drivers.

Mr Anderson says the owners of NZ Bus posted a six percent profit last week, so can afford a decent pay rise for staff.
