Auckland Transport fines totalling $3m per month

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Auckland News | Monday October 22 2012 16:44

A classic case of how it all adds up.

The New Zealand Herald reports figures show Auckland Transport has been slamming motorists with fines of $3 million a month.

In the financial year to June 20, that's $36.2 million.

That's jumped from just over $20 million compared with the previous eight months, when Auckland Transport started operating.

The figure is made up of parking fines, expired warrants and registrations, driving in bus lanes and court recovery.
