Teenagers trash Waihi house

By: Lesley Deverall | Latest Rural News | Wednesday May 16 2012 15:50

Waihi Police have arrested several teenagers over the trashing of a house while the owners were on holiday.

Nail polish, eggs, sauces and oils had been smeared across walls. Bedding, clothing and the contents of every drawer, wardrobe and cupboard were strewn throughout the house and offensive messages were written on walls.

Sofas and paintings were slashed with a knife and the fridge and freezer left open.

The decaying contents had left a stench throughout the house.

A 15-year-old charged with burglary and intentional damage will appear in the Waihi Youth Court tomorrow.

Another three Waihi boys aged 13, 12 and 11 have been arrested and referred to Youth Aid for follow up action.

Police are still looking for one more person.
