New Zealand and Australian beef has been cleared over an E. coli outbreak in Canada.
Canada's food inspection agency failed to find a link between the beef and the bacteria in frozen hamburgers that has left five people ill in Ontario and Alberta.
Beef products, produced by Canada's Cardinal Meat Specialists Limited, were recalled between December 12 and 15.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency investigated whether beef imported from Australia and New Zealand used in the burgers could be the E. coli source, but found it met all import certification and testing requirements.
