Conservatives happy to fill ACT's shoes

By: Annabel Reid | Latest Political News | Monday May 7 2012 11:19

The Conservative party's putting up its hand to be in coalition with National if ACT is dissolved.

Party leader Colin Craig says he'll stand in an Epsom by-election if allegations against John Banks over the donations saga bring about a free seat.

He says John Banks is facing an uphill battle.

"Personally its difficult to see John Banks staying both in as an MP and the ACT leader, these things tend to do damage to you, as Rodney Hide found out when he went overseas with his girlfriend."

Colin Craig says there's an opportunity for a new party to move into the House.
