Labour calls for thorough investigation over drug haul

| Latest Political News | Thursday November 1 2012 13:41

A massive drugs haul found in a Fonterra container has Labour calling for a thorough investigation.

The container was seized in Algeria, with 165kgs of cocaine or heroin inside.

Labour MP Kris Faafoi says New Zealand's borders and customs protections are considered very safe internationally and we must move to protect that.

He hopes the case is a one-off.

But the Mana MP believes our passports and exports may be targeted because of our good reputation.
