Finding MFAT leak 'too hard'

| Latest Political News | Friday May 4 2012 8:02

Finding the person responsible for leaking a confidential Cabinet paper on the MFAT restructuring, is being put in the too hard basket.

The paper was leaked to Labour, with John Key saying it obviously came from Foreign Affairs.

The Prime Minister says his office inquired as to how many people would have had access to it, and the answer was "many".

"My own view of these leaks, I've had them before in other ministries and the sad fact of life is you virtually never find who's responsible.

"People are clever, there's lots of ways they can take a photocopy of something."
