Wellingtonians have say on asset sales

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Political News | Friday April 13 2012 10:40

Hundreds of Wellingtonians are making their voices heard on the Bill that would allow our state owned assets to be partially sold off.

Today is the closing date for submissions to the committee considering the Mixed Ownership Model Bill.

The Ohariu People's Power group has set up a citizen's select committee to get public opinion on the controversial plan.

Spokesman Richard Goldsbrough says the response has been overwhelming.

"We've got so far 618 submissions and it's really good. They're all, bar one, totally opposed, one is ambivalent."

Mr Goldsbrough says they'll hand over a condensed version at end of play today.
