Govt's VIP limo fleet cost goes up

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Political News | Wednesday October 31 2012 11:24

The cost of running the Government's VIP limo fleet's gone up.

Financial figures published by the Department of Internal Affairs show almost $8 million was spent last year on operating the Government's chauffeur-driven BMWs and other self-drive vehicles.

That's an increase of more than $700,000 on the previous financial year.

A contributing factor to the rise may have been the use of the Crown cars to transport visiting dignitaries during last year's Rugby World Cup.
