Concerns raised over South Korean whaling

| Latest Political News | Thursday July 5 2012 14:08

Our Government's sending a top level diplomatic message to South Korea opposing its plans to undertake scientific research whaling.

South Korea's signalled its intention to resume whaling at the International Whaling Commission meeting in Panama.

Our Government has opposed the proposal at the IWC meeting and Foreign Minister Murray McCully says our objections will be further raised.

He's instructed our ambassador in Seoul to take immediate steps to register our serious concerns with the South Korean government.
