John Banks denies thanking Dotcom

By: Felix Marwick | Latest Political News | Monday April 30 2012 16:21

ACT leader John Banks says he never thanked Kim Dotcom for a contribution to his 2010 mayoral campaign.

Mr Banks maintains the donation, put at $50,000 by the internet mogul, was anonymous and that he had no knowledge of it being made.

He says he had contact with Kim Dotcom on other matters, including the $500,000 donation he made to the 2010 New Years fireworks display.

However Mr Banks says he never called and thanked for a donation to his mayoral campaign and could not have done so as the contribution was anonymous.
