Politicians put on a different kind of show

| Latest Political News | Friday April 27 2012 9:30

Politicians are putting on a show in Wellington, but for once it's not antics at the Beehive that's attracting attention, instead it's something a little more sobering.

Metiria Turei, Jan Logie, Grant Robertson, and Charles Chauvel will all perform readings this weekend at a special performance organised by international anti-violence movement 'V-day'.

Grant Robertson says although his prior performance experience is limited to the political arena, he hopes to do his part justice.

"My reading is from a man's perspective about growing up in a family where rape has been a feature. A number of the stories in the book are pretty disturbing, but there's also some humour in there and a lot of very important messages."

The V-day performances are on Saturday through Monday nights at Meow Cafe in Wellington.
