Key may have new election opponent

| Latest Political News | Sunday September 2 2012 6:32

John Key may have a new opponent at the next election - Conservative Party leader Colin Craig is considering standing against him.

Mr Craig says people have asked him to stand in Helensville, because they're unhappy with the Prime Minister's support for gay marriage.

But Mr Key isn't worried.

He says his electorate office has had only a few phone calls of complaint.

"I welcome any fair competition come election 2014. I wish him the best but I have got the largest majority in the country so I hope I can continue to enjoy the support of the good people of Helensville in 2014."
