More important issues than gay marriage - Harawira

Mana Party leader Hone Harawira says this country has more important issues to worry about than gay marriage.

Mr Harawira is said to be coming under pressure from his party to support gay marriage, despite his own morally conservative stance.

He says he hasn't made his mind up and is willing to discuss the subject.

But he told New Zealand's Rhema that gay marriage shouldn't be our priority at the moment, as he doesn't think it's "the next big thing".

Hone Harawira says he's comfortable with having an open discussion within his party because he has huge respect for it.
