Concern over racing greyhoud injuries

| Latest Political News | Wednesday February 20 2013 12:18

The injuries suffered by hundreds of racing greyhounds will be under the spotlight today as a petition is presented to Parliament.

Animal welfare advocates from the Greyhound Protection League will hand a petition to Green MP Mojo Mathers.

They want Parliament to support an independent inquiry into the fate of more than 1,000 racing greyhounds every year.

Ms Mathers says legitimate questions are being asked about what is happening to dogs who are injured, don't make the grade, or are no longer fit for racing.
