Around $60 million dollars is expected to be saved over the next five years by the Government after it signed an all-agency contract for mobile voice and data services. It's part of a public-sector wide procurement reform programme aimed at making government buying as efficient as possible and reducing costs. The mobile contracts have been awarded to Gen-I, Two Degrees and Vodafone and include all voice minutes and data used on phones held by government employees. Economic development minister Steven Joyce says every dollar saved means extra support for improved public services, essential infrastructure and growing the economy. Photo: stock.xchng |
