The Government's being accused of ignoring public opinion on its planned local government reforms. The Government's to proceed with its original bill despite a select committee being split and unable to recommend it proceed. Labour MP Annette King says it shows the select committee process was a sham particularly given the large number of submissions that opposed the Government's proposals.
