Dotcom prepared to release phone records

By: Anna Cross | Latest Political News | Wednesday May 2 2012 12:00

Kim Dotcom is open to releasing his phone records in the Banks donation saga.

The ACT leader is accused of breaking electoral law by treating $50,000 worth of donations to his 2010 Auckland mayoral campaign from the German businessman as anonymous.

Mr Banks has denied ringing Mr Dotcom and thanking him for the money.

However it's understood Mr Dotcom is prepared to make his phone records available to police investigating the matter.

Police won't comment as to whether they're seeking a copy of those records.
