Greens unhappy with comments on investment

By: Felix Marwick | Latest Political News | Monday April 16 2012 12:49

The Greens aren't happy with Chinese comments on investment in New Zealand.

Visiting senior Chinese politician Jia Qinglin has called for a policy environment that'd make Chinese investment easier.

Greens Co-Leader Russel Norman says both the visit and the opinion place enormous pressure on Government Ministers currently considering the Crafar Farms deal.

"The op ed I think is a clear hatchet to the Crafar deal. Also, from what we hear, the Chinese government have been very up front about it behind the scenes in telling the New Zealand government they expect it to be approved."

Russel Norman says the Government must resist the pressure from the Chinese.
