Shearer promises to stem Aussie flow

By: Felix Marwick | Latest Political News | Thursday December 6 2012 11:53

Labour says it'll cut the number of New Zealanders leaving the country permanently.

Party Leader David Shearer is slamming the Government for not doing enough to keep New Zealanders here, pointing out numbers leaving have risen despite's National's promise in 2008 to stem the flow.

He believes Labour's policies will reverse the trend.

"I'm not going to make false promises and predictions but I believe that our policies will bring down the number of people who are leaving New Zealand to go to Australia."
