Opinions split on crown account data

By: Felix Marwick | Latest Political News | Wednesday December 5 2012 16:46

Opinions are split on just what are the state of the government's finances.

Crown accounts released today put the government's deficit at almost $2.9 billion, $169 million worse than forecast.

Finance Minister Bill English says the figures confirm the Government's controlling its spending and getting better results.

Labour MP David Parker says they show the economy's stagnating and National's seriously mismanaging it.
