MP Hague launching adoption changes Bill

| Latest Political News | Sunday October 14 2012 10:19

The Green Party is to make it own play on changes to the adoption laws.

MP Kevin Hague is today launching his own Private Member's Bill.

It would see a law change which would allow open adoption rules and pave the way for gay couples to adopt.

"The existing Adoption Act is from 1955 and it is very clearly, and I think accepted by everyone, to be no longer fit for purpose."

Open adoption would give adoptees greater scope to track their birth parents than they currently can.
