Bill English has scoffed at the idea of printing money to reinflate the economy.
The Finance Minister's told a business audience in Wellington that countries who're doing it will suffer the consequences.
Mr English says the Bank of Japan's massive monetary reinflation has seen their economy flat-lining.
He says it's as though Japan's been trying to get out of the bed in the intensive care ward for the past 20 years while New Zealand's like the triathlete training outside.
