Minister never saw Novopay trial results

| Latest Political News | Tuesday November 27 2012 17:56

It's emerged the Government never looked at trials of a controversial new payroll system that's been causing chaos with teacher pay packets.

Associate Education Minister Craig Foss has made the admission in Parliament today, confirming he never saw results or trials of the new Novopay system before approving its implementation.

Labour MP Chris Hipkins is now asking what then was the point of Novopay being trialled.

Craig Foss says Novopay wasn't trialled, it was tested in parallel with the previous payroll system and recommendations from Novopay and the Ministry of Education were that it go live.
