The Minister of Labour's hitting back at criticism of her progress of reviewing employment laws. Cleaning company Crest Commercial Cleaning's been critical of Kate Wilkinson for not concluding a review of rules that require companies to hire staff from firms whose commercial contracts they've picked up. However Crest has fallen foul of the existing rules and recently had to pay $14,000 to two workers it decided not to hire. Kate Wilkinson says the law review is ongoing and Crest's owner should just wait to see its result. "I think he should be pleased actually that I waited until the result of his court case so that I could make improvements to part 6A." Photo: NZ Herald |
