Dotcom lining up taxpayer for money - Peters

By: Nina Burton | Latest Political News | Sunday September 30 2012 10:42

Winston Peters believes Kim Dotcom will be lining up the New Zealand taxpayer for a lot of money.

His comments come after GCSB was this week found to have been illegally spying on the Megaupload founder.

New Zealand First leader Winston Peters has little doubt Kim Dotcom will expect compensation for the blunder.

He's told TVNZ's Q&A programme Mr Dotcom should never have been allowed into the country.

"He bought his way in just because he was someone with money. It's revolting, and it's made us look like a joke. I know a lot of people out there think that he's a hero but here's another bit - if you were a writer or a songwriter, and he stole your property, would you think him such a Robin Hood now?"
