A one stop shop is to be set up in Christchurch to help with the rebuild. It'll allow employers to list vacancies and recruit from Work and Income, the various rebuild training programmes, or bring in skilled labour from overseas. Social Development Minister Paula Bennett says four people will be seconded to the hub to work with businesses and help match job seekers to the positions. "We keep hearing of that mismatch, if you like, of local businesses that are looking to employ local people, the young people that are coming through that are upskilling and training and where those jobs are for them."
