Brownlee responds to Shearer's Chch rebuild claims

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Political News | Thursday October 18 2012 18:36

The Earthquake Recovery Minister is rebutting claims that more should be done to get New Zealanders involved in the rebuild.

Labour leader David Shearer says the earthquakes have brought the opportunity to create a skilled local workforce.

He also criticised the Government for not capitalising on the possibility.

Gerry Brownlee says they are getting Kiwis involved and points out since January more than 2000 Cantabrians have come off the unemployment benefit.

He says Mr Shearer's like a man in a maze with an upside down map and jam-jar glasses.
