Key doubts third US debate would have swung voters

By: Barry Soper | Latest Political News | Wednesday October 24 2012 15:42

The Prime Minister doubts US voters got much of a steer from the third and final presidential debate.

John Key didn't see Barack Obama and Mitt Romney scrap over foreign policy, but has read the transcript.

He reckons those watching the debate would probably have already made up their minds.

"The thing with those debates is that increasingly as time goes on they tend to be watched more by those who were aligned voters. The first debate tends to be the one which is viewed by swinging voters."

That first debate was won by challenger Mitt Romney.
