John Key will barely have his feet on the ground this week - just back from Rarotonga, he's off to Russia on Thursday. And it's for another round of international talks, this time APEC. The Trans-Pacific Partnership and movement towards a Free Trade Agreement with Russia will be at the top of the agenda for the Prime Minister. Movement towards the FTA is slower than expected, but he says that's not unusual. "We won't sign the deal unless it's comprehensive and we can't undermine an undercut in any future FTAs we do. My experience is they always take longer and they're always slower." Mr Key will meet with President Vladmir Putin for the first time during the trip. Photo: Getty Images |
