Queries over NZ on Air's funding decisions

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Political News | Tuesday May 8 2012 8:52

Another query over New Zealand On Air's funding decisions.

Parliament's Commerce Committee wants to know why it's giving $1.6 million towards the New Zealand's Got Talent show, when TVNZ is paying an almost $14 million dividend to the Government.

New Zealand On Air says there are no locally based shows in the performance genre because of their high cost and risk of under performance.

It expects the show to be very popular with a large family audience.
