Maori Council hui to address formal vote

By: Natasha Burling | Latest Political News | Saturday September 15 2012 10:59

A Maori Council hui on water is taking place in West Auckland today.

Resolutions of unity were passed after a national hui at Turangawaewae this week, which also set up a group to talk to the Government about defining water rights.

The hui also backed a Maori Council court challenge to halt the float of state-owned enterprises if talks fail.

Lawyer Donna Hall says there'll be a formal vote on all those resolutions today.

She'll be surprised if they aren't approved but says there has to be a vote.
