More debate ahead for Mondayising holidays

By: Felix Marwick | Latest Political News | Thursday February 21 2013 6:39

There is more arguing to go before efforts to get extra holidays are resolved.

Time ran out last night for Parliament to finish the second reading of Labour MP David Clark's Holidays Amendment Bill.

The Bill would allow people to have Mondays off on the occasions when Anzac and Waitangi Days fall on a weekend, also known as Mondayising these holidays.

David Clark is confident he has the numbers to get his Bill through.

"The Government is on the wrong side of this Bill, and yet they cannot stop its progress."

The Bill will be debated again next month.
