Labour's claims minister botched MFAT restructure

By: Felix Marwick | Latest Political News | Thursday September 6 2012 16:17

Labour's claiming just obtained Budget papers prove the Minister of Foreign of Affairs botched the restructure of his department.

Labour MP Phil Goff is releasing official papers he says shows Murray McCully knew and approved MFAT's restructuring plan a month before he publicly distanced himself from it and requested changes be made.

He says it's gutless for the minister to have made MFAT CEO a scapegoat for the failed restructuring, and even worse that he attacked him for seeking to implement a plan the minister had approved.
