Bary Hart appeal dismissed by High Court

By: Annabel Reid | New Zealand News | Wednesday September 26 2012 16:05

The High Court has dismissed lawyer Barry Hart's appeal to keep working on his current cases.

The 71-year-old was struck off after the Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal found him guilty of three charges of misconduct.

He'd asked that he was able to continue on the cases he's currently working on.

Justice Lang says the two significant cases he's got on-the-go are scheduled far enough in the future for another lawyer to take.

He says the need to protect the public is paramount and requires Hart to remain suspended pending his other appeals.
