Lotto outlets brace themselves

By: Philippa Ormrod | New Zealand News | Wednesday September 5 2012 16:20

Staff at lottery outlets around the country are excited ahead of tonight's Big Wednesday draw.

The prize package has reached 23 million dollars making it the fourth biggest prize of all time.

Eastridge Lotto owner and operator Anne Barker says it's not just the winner who gets excitement from the prize draw.

"I think you get more excitement out of selling a ticket than you probably do winning it!"

She's gearing up for a busy time.

"We'll go flat out. I've got two operators on, and we'll go flat out from then until 7.30. We're just waiting for the queues."

The last Big Wednesday first division prize of $11.4 million went to an Auckland family in March.
