Taipei air service to bring economy $50m

By: Natasha Burling | New Zealand News | Friday August 3 2012 15:05

A new air service to Taipei is expected to inject $50 million into New Zealand's economy.

China Airlines will be flying to Taipei via Sydney four times a week from the end of October.

The airline already flies from Auckland to Taipei via Brisbane three times a week, meaning there will now be a daily connection between New Zealand and Taiwan.

Auckland Airport spokesman Glenn Wedlock says the announcement marks a significant step towards stronger trade and tourism links between the two countries.
