$5.8k fine for illegal gas fitting

By: Sam Thompson | Latest National News | Wednesday February 8 2012 14:25

Two Upper Hutt men have been fined a total of $5,800 dollars for illegally carrying out gas fitting work.

The Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board says David Forbes and Chris Robinson were not registered or authorised to carry out the work.

It says the work carried out by Mr Forbes was defective and the installation had the potential to cause a gas leak, which could have led to an explosion when the stove was turned on by the homeowner.
